ECOPANS would like to express its thanks to the Region of Sicily, in particular to the President of the ARS, Dr. Gaetano Galvagno, and to the Regional Department of Energy and Public Utilities, Councillor Giovanni Di Mauro, Regional Department of Water and Waste. Thanks to the Call for tender, DDG no. 1201 of 19/10/2021, within the framework of the OP ERDF Sicily 2014-2020, Priority Axis 6, Specific Objective 6.1, Action 6.1.1, ECOPANS had the opportunity to collaborate with several Sicilian municipalities for the management of organic waste. The project was implemented through subsidies for the installation of community and neighbourhood composting plants. The commitment of the municipalities that have joined the initiative has led to the creation of small composting plants spread throughout the territory, a model of a circular economy in which organic waste is transformed into compost directly at the place of production, reducing the impact that would be generated by transport to large disposal centres. Special thanks go to the municipalities that have embraced this initiative, launching it through public tenders and installing ECOPANS composting machines:

A glimpse into the future
ECOPANS continues its mission to guide municipalities towards the adoption of sustainable technologies, providing training and assistance to ensure effective waste management. We hope that more and more municipalities in Sicily can benefit from similar funding, moving towards an increasingly autonomous and sustainable Sicily in the management of its waste.
